You would be correct! It's more the "typical" medieval fantasy-esque, but the styles are a bit more updated to be closer to the sci-fi/steampunk blend that you see a lot in fantasy JRPGs. If we compared it to other Final Fantasy games, some kind of mix of FFVI, FFIX, FFXII, and FFXVI.
