Read the following before submitting your application:
- Applications open midnight, US Eastern Time.
- Invitation is required! The only time it is not is if the app round is open to the public. We will specify when an app round is public. You can make requests on the Invite Request page.
- Reservation and Test Drive is required! Because of the cap and the app requirements, both of these are required before you can apply. App challenges will also need to reserve.
- The application period is 3 days. We will process all apps at the end of the period.
- All applications should be posted in the character journal applying to the game and linked to when submitting to this entry.
- There is a 65 total player cap, but we may adjust it to account for volume.
- There is a 10 character cast cap. If we receive more than we have open, we will accept the ones that best fit and came first. Players are limited to one character in a specific cast.
- Players have a limit of playing 3 characters at a time, and there is an app limit of 2 characters per player with 1 character per canon.
- There is a two week waiting period for all new canon materials.
- For information about what kinds of characters are applicable, refer to the Applications section of the Game Info. Other information about character types and abilities can be found in their respective sections there.
- Make sure to check the Taken and the Reserved entries to ensure the character you wish to apply for is not already listed.
- Those who receive Revisions will have five days to submit the requested revisions before we consider it as a revocation of the application.

Background Information: Just some basic background information about the character and what they've been through in their canon. ARMADA SELECTION
Choose between Corsairs or Paladins and include a brief blurb explaining why. We would prefer if there's some thought put into it, such as including why they would fit in the faction and what they would do. Some ideas of what you'd like to explore with the character will help. We will try to slot them into your preferred choice, but if there is an imbalance in the two we may have to put them in the other armada. If your character can fit in either, please consider and note it down!

REVISION
We'd like for you to edit the application so that there are a lot less broken fragments and disjointed sentences. Although the application covers Hiro's personality and abilities, it was difficult to read due to how it was written. We highly advise putting it through a grammar checker or have someone read over it so that it reads more smoothly.
Please submit your revisions as its own comment in reply to this one; do not edit your original app. You have five (5) days to submit the revisions, otherwise we will consider it a revocation of your application. Re: REVISION
1) Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them.
Hiro is a prodigy. He’s smart, knows it, and uses it to his advantage against others who underestimate him because of his age. He isn’t necessarily the most concerned about the law, given his introduction in the film shows him participating in bot fighting (and betting on it). He’s initially focused on this as his career, using his age to get people to underestimate him, hustling his opponents for easy money. He’s cocky and confident about this, given he knows as a minor, there would be little to no repercussions. He brushes off his family’s attempts to encourage him to do something more, saying there was no point in going to university for people to tell him what he already knew.
He has grown and developed from that initial point—somewhat, at least. By the end of the film, he is shown to be more open to learning, working as a team with others, and going to university. He makes friends there, too, eventually allowing them to support him. This is a big step for him, considering his past of being bullied.
Hiro is determined, ambitious, and stubborn once he sets his mind to something. This is shown in his pursuit of acceptance into the university and his attempts to figure out what was going on with the guy in the kabuki mask who has his microbots, for example. This also links to his impulsiveness, simply doing things because he can and wants to. This is shown in his various experiments and inventions growing up, for example, his rocket boots for his cat, Mochi, and roping his friends along to help him by taking matters into their own hands.
He ends up stepping up and risking his safety to save Abigail, Callaghan’s daughter, from the portal. So, he is determined to do what he can to help, even at potential risk to himself. In this case, Baymax was the one who had to be sacrificed. This shows that he can do the right thing when it comes down to it. He could see that even if he was furious with Callaghan, she didn't deserve to suffer because of her father's actions.
Hiro is a teen, so of course, he is emotional. He’s especially going through the wringer during the film's period after losing his brother. The show set afterward focuses more on his time after that point, and he’s less likely to swing from such extremes, but he’s still shown to have his moments. He was just less focused on hatred and revenge than he was. He’s shown to feel things very strongly. It’s why he is shown to be so affected by Tadashi’s passing, and the series shows this takes time, given he’s still emotional over the present Tadashi left for him for Christmas, for example. Given the potential extremes of emotions, this can be both a positive and a weakness.
2) What is a driving force your character has? What goals do they have, what motivates them, etc?
‘Someone has to help.’ That’s what Tadashi said when they heard that Professor Callaghan was still in the building during the fire and had run in to rescue his mentor. Hiro takes that to heart, eventually, after coming out of his depressive funk. He wants to help people, too. To go to SFIT like Tadashi and learn more about robotics, technology, and ways he could help. He has big shoes to fill Tadashi’s place, but he doesn’t just try to emulate Tadashi; instead, he strives to do his own thing.
3) What are their flaws as a character? What is something they’ve messed up, or have done that they regret?
Hiro’s flaws, I would say, are that he is so impulsive and emotional. This leads to him trying to use Baymax to kill Callaghan. He was too blinded by fury and upset to stop to take a moment and think about this response and that it was not how Tadashi would have wanted him to react and handle the situation. This is something that he does, in hindsight, regret. He apologizes to the rest of the team afterward, once he has had a moment to calm down after watching the recordings of Tadashi working on testing Baymax.
As I mentioned above, he's also not against breaking the law, as shown by his entering places he shouldn’t be, his investigating what was going on with his microbots, his gambling, and the superhero vigilante thing he pulls. Admittedly, the police did not believe him when he tried to tell them someone had stolen his microbots and what they could be capable of. So he figured to take matters into his own hands to solve it himself.
4) Optional: What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?
Hiro is such a brat that Tadashi has a GPS tracker. He had to sew into Hiro’s hoodies to keep track of the kid when he was out betting on bot fights. I’m not sure that could be said about many others whose families were so worried they would end up in trouble that they went to those lengths. I find it hilarious that Hiro is oblivious and is just like, ‘Oh wow, Tadashi has great timing!’ when his brother arrives to rescue him from whatever hijinks he has gotten himself into this time.
